Helping scientists look after grey whales

Clayoquot Sound Whales asked me to set up a front end for grey whales and give them a way to bulk upload all their sighting data. Of course I jumped at the chance to work on this project, because whales are amazing and it's not every day that I get a chance to work with them, even indirectly, as a web developer.

Contributing to Open Source Software

In February of 2017, I was assigned to look after the New York Observer. My first task was a stale ticket about FBIA warnings. FBIA (Facebook Instant Articles) is a platform that Facebook is promoting to help articles load faster on mobile, within the Facebook ecosystem. It’s competing with AMP, which is Google’s project that does the same thing in the Google ecosystem.

Kind Words From Some Happy Customers

Shannon did an excellent job developing a new section about grey whales on our website. She quickly understood what we wanted to do (how we wanted photos and data to be displayed) and she effectively implemented our vision. During in-person, phone, and online meetings, Shannon was friendly, punctual, and prepared. She provided regular updates, met deadlines and budget estimates, and created a thorough how-to manual for future updates that I will do myself. If you want someone who is smart, responsive, easy-to-work with, and exceptionally good at what she does, then I highly recommend Shannon.

Josie Byington, Clayquout Sound Humpback Whales

As a medical doctor, I wanted a website that reflected the professionalism of my practice while at the same time grabbing the attention of the viewer surfing the web.  Based on my request, Shannon was able to develop a site that was polished, easy to navigate and creative in a way that matched my personality. I couldn’t be happier with the results - thanks Shannon!

Dr Rob Sealey, Cannabinoid Medicine Specialist

In 2018 I hired Shannon to help me build a website for my wedding business. From start to finish she was a perfect balance of professional and personable. She took into account the vision I had, but designed it even better than I could have thought too. I would definitely recommend Shannon to anyone looking to take their business to the next level. My business has grown exponentially because of her help getting me set up online. Thanks Shannon!

Chris-Ann D. Lake, Imagine Weddings

I highly recommend Shannon Graham. She is honest, reliable, and has a knack for delivering exactly what I’m looking for. She works super quickly and truly wants clients to be happy. You will not be disappointed.

Karmen McNamara, Victoria, BC

Shannon Graham, while employed as a project manager and lead developer with Geeks on the Beach in Victoria, was instrumental in developing, setting up and mastering our website for the new photographers GALLERY in Sidney,  Her attention to detail, adapting and updating the website on a continuing basis was always carried out in a timely and courteous fashion to insure high performance of the site on various communication devices. I would highly recommend her website management skills to anyone contemplating developing and maintaining a commercial website.
